Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 14 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of Zinlight Academy, including its website, learning activities, assessments, membership services, reports, games, school-partner features and related services.
By creating an account, starting a free trial, purchasing a membership, accessing protected learning content or otherwise using Zinlight Academy, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
If you are creating or managing an account for a child, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and accept responsibility for the child’s use of the service.
01 Accounts, Children & Access
1. About Zinlight Academy
Zinlight Academy provides online educational assessments, practice activities, learner feedback, progress information, BrainSpark Play activities and related learning services through academy.zinlight.com.
The platform is intended to support learning and practice. It is not a substitute for a school’s curriculum, professional teaching, formal examination authority or educational diagnosis.
We may improve, update, expand, restrict or discontinue particular features from time to time.
2. Accounts and Registration
Users may be required to create an account to access protected areas or learning services.
When registering, you agree to provide information that is accurate and reasonably complete.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activities carried out through your account, except where misuse occurs through circumstances outside your reasonable control.
You must not:
- share login credentials with unauthorised persons;
- create accounts using false or misleading information;
- impersonate another person;
- attempt to gain access to another user’s account;
- use automated means to create large numbers of accounts without permission.
Where an account is created for a child, a parent, guardian, school or other responsible adult should supervise or authorise its use where appropriate.
3. Children and Responsible-Adult Supervision
Zinlight Academy is designed in part for school-age learners.
Where required, children should use the platform under the supervision or authorisation of a parent, guardian, school or responsible adult.
The responsible adult should ensure that:
- account information is appropriate and accurate;
- the child understands that login details should not be shared;
- the platform is used for genuine educational purposes;
- any payment or membership decision involving the child is properly authorised.
02 Trials, Memberships & Payments
4. Free Trial
Zinlight Academy currently offers a 7-Day Full Access Free Trial.
The free trial:
- provides eligible users with temporary access to available member learning features;
- does not require a payment card to begin;
- does not automatically convert into a paid membership;
- does not automatically charge the user at the end of the seven-day period.
When the trial expires, continued access to protected member features requires an active paid membership unless otherwise stated.
The availability, eligibility or structure of future promotional trials may change.
5. Paid Memberships
Paid memberships may be offered on recurring or fixed-duration terms.
The current membership options include:
- Nigeria Monthly;
- Nigeria 90-Day;
- International Monthly;
- International 90-Day.
The prices displayed on the Plans & Pricing page at the time of purchase form part of the applicable transaction.
Current pricing is:
- Nigeria Monthly: ₦3,500
- Nigeria 90-Day: ₦8,000
- International Monthly: $5.99
- International 90-Day: $14.99
We may revise pricing in the future. Any revised price will apply according to the terms presented at the time of purchase or renewal.
6. Recurring Memberships
A recurring membership may renew automatically according to the billing arrangement shown during checkout and supported by the relevant payment provider.
Where automatic renewal applies, the user is responsible for ensuring that valid payment arrangements remain available.
A failed renewal may result in membership expiry, suspension or loss of access to protected member features.
Users may cancel recurring memberships through the available account or cancellation process where supported.
Cancellation stops future renewal according to the applicable membership arrangement but does not ordinarily create a refund for time already used unless required by law or expressly stated in our Refund Policy.
7. Fixed-Duration Memberships
A fixed-duration membership expires at the end of its stated period unless renewed or replaced with another active membership.
For example, a 90-day membership provides access for the applicable membership period and does not necessarily renew automatically unless the checkout terms clearly state otherwise.
When membership expires, access to protected member content may end.
8. Payments
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.
By making a payment, you agree to the payment terms presented during checkout and any applicable terms of the payment provider.
Zinlight Academy may receive transaction information needed to confirm payment, activate access, manage renewals and maintain appropriate financial records.
We do not require access to users’ full payment-card details in order to provide membership services.
9. Access After Membership Expiry
When a free trial or paid membership expires:
- protected learning areas may become unavailable;
- the account may remain in existence;
- previously recorded learning information may remain stored for an appropriate period;
- the user may be offered a renewal or membership-selection route.
Zinlight Academy does not promise that inactive accounts or learning records will be retained indefinitely.
Records may be deleted, anonymised or archived in accordance with our Privacy Policy, operational requirements and applicable law.
03 Assessments, Fair Use & Learning Features
10. Learning Activities and Assessments
Zinlight Academy provides practice activities and assessments for educational purposes.
Assessment scores, feedback and reports are intended to support learning and should not automatically be treated as:
- an official school examination result;
- a government-issued qualification;
- a professional educational diagnosis;
- guaranteed evidence of future academic performance.
Users should consider assessment results alongside appropriate teaching, schoolwork and wider educational judgement.
11. Assessment Attempts and Timing
Certain assessments may be timed or governed by attempt rules.
Where a learner begins a timed assessment, leaving the page or closing the browser does not necessarily pause the assessment.
If the applicable assessment time expires, the attempt may be ended and results shown when the learner returns.
A subsequent attempt may be treated as a new attempt.
Zinlight Academy does not provide a general “pause and resume later” entitlement for timed assessments.
12. Fair and Proper Use
Users must use Zinlight Academy in a lawful and educationally appropriate manner.
You must not:
- interfere with the operation or security of the platform;
- attempt to bypass access restrictions;
- manipulate assessment systems or results;
- submit malicious code;
- scrape or copy substantial amounts of platform content without permission;
- attempt unauthorised access to databases, user records or administrative systems;
- deliberately disrupt another user’s learning experience;
- use the platform for fraud, abuse or unlawful activity.
We may investigate suspected misuse and take reasonable protective action.
13. BrainSpark Play and Games
BrainSpark Play activities are intended to support engagement, practice and reinforcement of learning.
Game scores or progress indicators should not be treated as formal academic certification unless expressly stated otherwise.
Game features, scoring methods, available activities and progression systems may change as the platform develops.
14. Competition Arena
Zinlight Competition Arena is a planned future feature and is not currently available for live school competition events.
Any information shown on the website about Competition Arena before launch is descriptive of planned functionality and does not constitute a commitment that every described feature will be released in a particular form or by a particular date.
When Competition Arena becomes available, separate competition rules, event conditions, integrity requirements or participation terms may apply.
04 Partners, Intellectual Property & Service Operation
15. School Partners
Schools or organisations may work with Zinlight Academy under separate partnership arrangements.
Participation as a school partner is subject to approval and any applicable Partner Terms.
Being listed, referred or introduced as a partner does not automatically create an employment, agency, franchise, joint venture or ownership relationship.
School partners must not make misleading claims about Zinlight Academy or promise services, prices, guarantees or benefits that Zinlight Academy has not authorised.
16. Referral Programme
Approved school partners may participate in a referral programme subject to the applicable Partner Terms.
The current school-partner referral structure provides a 30% commission on qualifying referred memberships, is single-tier, and does not permit self-referral.
Commission eligibility, attribution, payment timing, exclusions, reversals and other operational details are governed by the Partner Terms.
17. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, Zinlight Academy owns or is authorised to use the website design, branding, educational materials, assessment structures, original text, graphics, software elements, game designs and other platform content.
Users receive a limited right to access and use Zinlight Academy for personal, household, educational or authorised school purposes.
You must not, without permission:
- reproduce substantial amounts of content;
- resell or commercially redistribute learning materials;
- republish assessments or question banks;
- copy game systems or proprietary content for competing services;
- remove copyright, trademark or ownership notices;
- represent Zinlight Academy content as your own.
Normal classroom reference, learner use and permitted school use are not prohibited where consistent with the applicable membership or partnership arrangement.
18. User-Submitted Information
Where users submit messages, enquiries or other information, they are responsible for ensuring that the material is lawful and appropriate.
Users should not submit unnecessary sensitive personal information.
Where schools submit information about learners, they should provide only information reasonably necessary for the relevant educational or administrative purpose.
19. Service Availability
We aim to keep Zinlight Academy reasonably available and reliable, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
Service may occasionally be interrupted because of:
- maintenance;
- upgrades;
- hosting problems;
- internet or telecommunications failures;
- payment-provider problems;
- security incidents;
- software faults;
- circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where practical, we will seek to restore normal service within a reasonable period.
20. Changes to Features
Zinlight Academy is an evolving educational platform.
We may add, remove, replace or modify features, learning activities, subject content, reports, games, interfaces or technical systems.
We will avoid materially misleading users about features that are not available.
Where a major change materially affects a paid service, we will seek to handle the change fairly and consistently with applicable law.
21. Suspension or Termination
We may suspend, restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:
- serious or repeated breach of these Terms;
- fraudulent or unlawful activity;
- security risks;
- misuse of another user’s account;
- attempts to compromise the platform;
- abusive conduct toward users or staff;
- payment failure where active payment is required;
- legal or regulatory requirements.
Where appropriate, we may first issue a warning or request corrective action.
We reserve the right to take immediate protective action where necessary to protect users, children, systems or data.
05 Refunds, Privacy, Third Parties & Educational Outcomes
22. Refunds
Refund eligibility is governed by the separate Refund Policy published on Zinlight Academy.
Starting or using a membership does not automatically create a right to a refund beyond rights provided by applicable law or the published Refund Policy.
Users should review the Refund Policy before purchasing.
23. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By using Zinlight Academy, you acknowledge that account, membership, assessment, technical and other necessary information may be processed as described in that policy.
24. Third-Party Services
Zinlight Academy may depend on third-party services for functions such as:
- payment processing;
- hosting;
- email delivery;
- analytics;
- membership functionality;
- security;
- other technical infrastructure.
We are not responsible for independent third-party websites or services outside our reasonable control.
Use of certain third-party services may also be subject to their own terms.
25. Educational Outcomes
Zinlight Academy is designed to support learning, practice and progress.
However, we do not guarantee:
- particular examination grades;
- admission into a school;
- scholarship success;
- specific improvement within a fixed period;
- any particular academic or career outcome.
Learning outcomes depend on many factors, including learner effort, teaching, curriculum, practice, prior knowledge and individual circumstances.
26. Limitation of Responsibility
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit responsibility where exclusion or limitation would be unlawful.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Zinlight Academy is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Users remain responsible for decisions they make based on educational information presented through the platform.
These Terms do not remove any mandatory consumer or statutory rights that apply to a user.
06 Legal Framework, Changes & Contact
27. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when our services, membership arrangements, technology, legal obligations or business practices change.
When material changes are made, the revised Terms will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
Where appropriate, significant changes may also be communicated through the website, account area or other reasonable means.
28. Governing Framework
These Terms are intended to operate in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Zinlight Academy is operated from Nigeria, while the platform may also be accessed by users in other countries.
Mandatory legal rights that apply to users in their jurisdiction are not intended to be excluded by these Terms.
Any dispute should first be raised directly with Zinlight Academy so that a reasonable attempt can be made to resolve the matter.
29. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally permitted.
30. No Waiver
If Zinlight Academy does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean the provision has been permanently waived.
